Now cover the entire cake with chocolate frosting. Use the light colored decorating icing to make the face, eyes, nose and mouth of the bear. The dark colored icing may be used to fill the bear’s ears, make eyeballs and a bow at the bear’s neck. Lastly, sprinkle chocolate shavings over the bear’s body.

The Rattle Cake
The rattle cake is another interesting design to make a baby shower cake. For this, one needs two circular 9 inch cakes and a 9 X 3 inch rectangular cake. Firstly, place one of the round cakes on a cake board. This is the bulb of the rattle. Place the rectangular cake, the short end touching the round bulb, as the stem. Now, place the other round cake at the other end of the rectangular cake. From the left over cake, cut two small triangles to be placed on each side of the stem. This is the bow.

Use butter cream icing to frost the whole cake. Pastel decorating icings of blue or pink color can be used over the bulb to create dots and stripes. You would have to draw a decorative outline at the end of the stem. Candies and sprinkles can also be used to make the cake look great.

The Baby’s Tummy Cake
To make the cake looking like the baby’s tummy, you would need a rectangular 13 X 9 inch cake. Apart from it, three colors of butter cream icing – white, flesh tones and accent, will be needed. Use the flesh toned icing to frost the upper half of the cake. Use white icings to create the diaper of the baby. You would have to leave some small areas to make the leg cutouts that would have to be covered by the flesh toned icing.

Now, outline the diaper with the third decorative icing. Icings may also be used to create the diaper pins. Lastly, you can use a candy to create the belly button of the baby. The tummy cake is a fantastic way to create an everlasting impression on the guests invited to the baby shower event.
